Terms of service
These terms set out who we are, how we sell to you, and what happens if something goes wrong. Please read them before you order. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are
This website is operated by Xshowhome Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13930380. Our registered office is 65 Heath Croft Road, Sutton Coldfield, B75 6RN. Our trading address is Buzzards Valley, Shirrall Drive, Drayton Bassett, Tamworth, B78 3EQ.
Our VAT registration number is [VAT NUMBER].
You can reach us on +44 121 270 3390 or at info@xshowhome.com. We also have showrooms in Tamworth, Ludlow and Broadway.
Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Xshowhome Limited, and "you" and "your" mean the person buying from or using this site.
2. About these terms
These terms apply to every order you place through this website, by phone or by email, and to your use of the site itself. By placing an order you agree to them.
Our Returns and Refunds Policy, Delivery Policy and Privacy Policy form part of these terms. Where anything in those policies conflicts with these terms, those policies take priority.
We may change these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the moment you placed it, so it's worth saving or printing a copy when you order.
Our store runs on Shopify Inc, which provides the ecommerce platform we use to sell to you.
3. Who can buy from us
You must be at least 18 to place an order.
We sell to consumers and to businesses. If you're buying in the course of a business, the consumer rights described in these terms don't apply to you, and sections 9, 11 and 18 apply differently. Tell us at the point of order if you're buying as a business.
We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom. If you need delivery elsewhere, get in touch and we'll tell you whether we can help.
4. Our products
We describe and photograph every piece as accurately as we can. Two things are worth knowing about furniture in particular.
Natural materials vary. Wood grain, marble veining, leather markings, stone and hand-finished paint will differ from piece to piece and from the photographs. That variation is a feature of the material, not a fault.
Screens vary too. Colours on your monitor or phone won't be an exact match for the piece in front of you. If colour is critical, ask us for a fabric or finish sample, or come and see it in a showroom.
Dimensions on the product page are given in centimetres and are approximate, with a small tolerance for handmade and upholstered items. Please measure your access route before ordering. See section 8.
Some of what we sell is ex-display or ex-showhome stock. Where that's the case, we say so on the product page and describe any wear. Ex-display items are sold in the condition described.
Product packaging may differ from the images shown.
5. Prices
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at the current rate. Delivery is charged separately unless the product page says otherwise, and the full delivery charge is shown to you at checkout before you pay.
Prices can change at any time, but changes won't affect an order we've already accepted.
Occasionally an item may be priced wrongly. If the correct price is lower than the price shown, we'll charge you the lower amount. If the correct price is higher and the error is obvious enough that you could reasonably have spotted it, we'll contact you before dispatch and you can confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. We won't charge you the higher price without asking.
Where we show a "was" or reference price alongside a current price, it's the price we offered that item at for a meaningful period beforehand.
6. How your order works
Placing an order is an offer to buy from us. It isn't a contract yet.
The email you get straight after checkout confirms we've received your order. It isn't acceptance.
A contract between us forms when we email you to confirm the item has been dispatched, or when we contact you to confirm we accept the order, whichever happens first. If we can't accept your order, we'll tell you and refund any payment in full.
We may decline an order where the item is out of stock, where there's been a pricing or description error, where we can't authorise your payment, or where we can't deliver to your address. We may also limit or decline orders that appear to be from dealers or resellers.
We'll assign an order number and reference it in our correspondence. Quote it when you contact us and it'll be quicker for both of us.
7. Payment
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment is taken at the point of order.
Card details are handled by our payment provider, not by us, and are encrypted in transit. We don't store your full card number.
Ownership of the goods passes to you once we've received payment in full. Responsibility for them passes to you when you take physical possession, which is covered in section 8.
Please keep your account and billing details up to date so we can complete your order and reach you if there's a problem.
8. Delivery
Delivery timescales, charges and how it works on the day are set out in our Delivery Policy.
Lead times on product pages are estimates. We'll agree a delivery slot with you before we come.
Unless we've agreed a longer time with you, we'll deliver within 30 days of the contract forming. If we don't, and delivery within 30 days was essential to you, or you set us a new deadline and we missed that too, you can cancel and we'll refund you in full.
The goods are our responsibility until they're physically in your hands, or in the hands of someone you've nominated to receive them. If anything is damaged in transit, that's on us. Section 11 tells you what happens next.
Please check before you order that the item will fit through your doors, hallways, stairs and any tight corners. Dimensions are on every product page, and we're glad to talk it through beforehand. If we can't get the item in on the day, our Delivery Policy sets out what happens and what it costs.
If you don't take delivery of an item after we've agreed a slot, and the reason isn't something we've done, we may charge you for storage and for a further delivery attempt as set out in our Delivery Policy.
9. Cancelling an online order
If you're a consumer buying online, by phone or by email, you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You can cancel from the moment you place your order until 14 days after the day you receive it. If your order arrives in more than one delivery, the 14 days run from the day the last item arrives. You don't need to give a reason.
To cancel, email info@xshowhome.com with your order number, or write to us at Xshowhome Limited, Buzzards Valley, Shirrall Drive, Drayton Bassett, Tamworth, B78 3EQ. There's a cancellation form in our Returns and Refunds Policy if it's easier, but any clear statement that you want to cancel is enough.
If you cancel before delivery, we'll stop the order wherever it is and refund you in full, including the delivery charge. There's nothing for you to arrange and nothing for you to pay.
If you cancel after delivery, you'll need to return the item to us within 14 days of telling us. Our Returns and Refunds Policy explains how that works and what it costs.
Our own returns window is 30 days from delivery, which is longer than the law requires. Both apply, and you can rely on whichever suits you.
You're welcome to handle an item the way you would in a showroom. If you go further than that and the item comes back worth less as a result, we may reduce your refund to reflect it, and we'll tell you before we do.
10. Bespoke and made-to-order items
Furniture made to your own specification, including bespoke sofa configurations and custom fabric or finish choices, is exempt from the cancellation right under Regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Once we've placed the order with the maker, it can't be cancelled or returned because you've changed your mind.
We'll confirm your specification to you in writing before we order, and we'll tell you clearly at that point that your cancellation right is ending. If you're unsure about anything, ask us first.
This doesn't affect your rights if a bespoke item arrives faulty, damaged or not as specified. Those are covered in section 11.
11. Faulty goods and your statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, everything we sell you must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these terms reduces that.
If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, tell us within 30 days of delivery and you can have a full refund, a replacement, or keep the item at a reduced price. It's your choice, and collection is free either way.
After 30 days and within the first six months, we'll repair or replace the item. If that doesn't put it right, you can have a refund.
Up to six years from purchase, five in Scotland, you may still have a claim if the item wasn't of satisfactory quality when you received it.
These rights don't cover fair wear and tear, damage you've caused, or a fault you were told about before buying, which includes described wear on ex-display items.
Where a manufacturer's guarantee comes with the item, it sits alongside your legal rights rather than replacing them.
For more on your rights, contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133 or visit citizensadvice.org.uk.
12. Showroom purchases
The cancellation right in section 9 applies to distance sales, so it doesn't apply to something you bought in one of our showrooms. We offer a 30-day returns policy on showroom purchases anyway, as a matter of goodwill. The terms are in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Your rights in section 11 apply in full to showroom purchases.
Click and collect orders are placed online, so they're online orders and section 9 applies, with the 14 days running from the day you collect.
13. Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details to yourself and let us know promptly if you think someone else has got hold of them.
We can suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe it's being used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.
14. Using this site
You may use this site for lawful purposes and to browse and buy from us. You may not use it to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to harass or abuse anyone, to send viruses or malicious code, to scrape or harvest data, or to interfere with the site's security or operation.
We can withdraw access to the site from anyone who breaches this section.
15. Reviews, photos and other submissions
If you post a review, send us photos of a piece in your home, or send us ideas and suggestions, you're giving us permission to use, edit and publish that content in our marketing without payment. You keep ownership of it.
You're responsible for what you submit. Please only submit content that's yours to give and that doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or contain anything unlawful, abusive or misleading.
We may remove content, but we're not obliged to monitor it, and we don't have to keep submissions confidential or respond to them.
If you'd like us to stop using something you've sent, email info@xshowhome.com and we'll remove it from anything we control.
16. Our content
The text, photography, design and branding on this site belong to us or to our suppliers and licensors. You may look at it, and print or download extracts for your own use. Please don't copy, republish or use it commercially without asking us first.
17. Links and third-party tools
This site links to other websites and uses third-party tools and services. We don't control them, we're not responsible for their content, and a link isn't an endorsement. Have a look at their own terms and privacy policies before you use them.
18. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. Loss is foreseeable if it's obvious that it will happen, or if we both knew it might when the contract was formed.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods under sections 9 to 11 and 19 to 24 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
We're not responsible for loss or damage caused by you, by a third party, or by an event outside our control as described in section 19.
We supply our products for domestic and private use. If you use them for any commercial or business purpose, we won't be liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
We take reasonable care to keep this site available and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may suspend or withdraw it.
19. Events outside our control
We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, fire, flood, strike, supplier or carrier failure, or the failure of public or private telecommunications networks.
If something like that happens, we'll contact you as soon as we can, and we'll agree a new delivery date once it's resolved. If the delay is substantial you can cancel and we'll refund you in full for anything you've paid for and not received.
20. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
21. If something goes wrong
Email info@xshowhome.com or call +44 121 270 3390. We're a family business and we'd much rather sort a problem out directly than have you take it further.
If we can't resolve it between us, you can contact your local Trading Standards service through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133, or bring a claim in the county court.
We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme, and we don't propose to use one.
22. Other terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We'll tell you if we do, and it won't affect your rights. You may only transfer your rights or obligations to someone else if we agree in writing.
This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce it.
If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest of them stay in force.
If we delay in enforcing something under these terms, or don't enforce it at all, that doesn't stop us enforcing it later.
23. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland, you can also bring a claim in the Scottish courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the Northern Irish courts.
