A family business built accidentally… and grown with heart

Most businesses start with a plan... Ours started with a showhome being delivered to my front door in the middle of lockdown.

Our Story

Where it all began...

For 20 years, I worked as a PA for an interior design company. I knew furniture inside out, I knew the suppliers, I knew the quality… and showhome buyers would constantly ask if they could buy the pieces we installed. The answer was always no.

Then, after I left, a developer rang and asked if I wanted to buy a full showhome back.

So suddenly, during lockdown, a complete five-bed showhome arrived outside my house. Every chair, every lamp, every cushion, every accessory. I started selling it on eBay, set up a Facebook page called “Ex Showhome”, and people came to my house to collect furniture from the driveway.

That’s really where it all began.

As things grew, we moved the stock into an old cow shed in Drayton Bassett. It was freezing, dusty, nothing polished, but I made it feel like a mini showroom. People booked five- or ten-minute slots just to come and look around.

It got busier and busier. I took on help. And eventually, the unit at Buzzards Valley became available.

That’s the showroom we’re in today.

We still have the old warehouse too, now used purely for storage and yes, it still has no heating.

This business really is built on family.

It’s me and Gary who own it. My sister Rachael works with us, and her daughter Keona too. Paul joined as our warehouse manager, now his daughter works alongside Emmy on social media. Dave came on board, and his dad Malcolm and brother-in-law Joe help out as well.

We’re not a big, faceless brand.

We’re a team of real people who know each other, work side by side, and genuinely care about what we do.

That shows in how we run the business, how we price fairly, how we look after customers, and how we go the extra mile because we’d expect the same ourselves. When you buy from us, you’re not dealing with a call centre or a corporate machine. You’re dealing with people who are proud of what they’ve built and stand behind every piece that leaves our showroom.

It’s personal to us, because this business isn’t just our work, it’s our family.
