Every month a few pieces just go, and May was no different. If you've been hunting for ex-display furniture that hasn't already done the rounds of every other outlet, this is the month's shortlist at Ex Show Home: two solid wood dining tables, a couple of armchairs you sink into and don't want to leave, and storage that does the boring job properly.
One thing before you scroll. Nearly everything we sell is ex-display, which is why the prices look the way they do and why stock is genuinely limited. A couple of these are down to the last one. If something catches your eye, don't sit on it for a fortnight and expect it to still be on the Best Sellers in May page.
Oval Sunburst Dining Table 180cm, Reclaimed Mango Wood
Reclaimed mango wood, 1.8m long, seats six. The top is laid out in a sunburst pattern so the grain fans out from the centre, and it sits on a black spider-leg base that keeps the whole thing feeling light rather than blocky. Mango wood means no two tops come out the same, so yours won't look like anyone else's. At £499 for a solid wood dining table this size, it's the sort of thing that costs a lot more once someone's stuck a designer's name on it. There's one left.
Delphine Collection 3 Drawer Chest
The quiet workhorse of the month. Three drawers, a calm brown finish, 65cm tall and 50cm wide so it tucks in beside a bed without crowding it. The drawers run smoothly and the carcass is built to take daily use, which is all you really want a chest of drawers to do. Good value at £183.99, and with twelve in stock there's no rush, but it's been one of the steadiest sellers all month.
Delphine Collection 1 Door Tall Cabinet
Same Delphine finish, very different job. This one goes up rather than out: 162cm tall, 50cm wide, with a single door hiding a full-height interior you can use for hanging or shelving. If you've got a bedroom that's short on floor but fine on wall, this is the answer, and it pairs neatly with the 3-drawer chest above. £335.99.
Hoxton Light Brown Leather Lounge Chair
This is the one people sat down in and didn't want to get back up from. Genuine light brown leather on the arms and back, lighter contrast stitching, and a properly cushioned seat. The leather has that worn-in, distressed look from the off, so it suits a room with a bit of metal and raw wood in it. At £1,129.99 it's an investment leather armchair, and there's one of it. When it's gone, it's gone.
TV Cabinet Cambon, Dark Coffee
The big statement piece this month. 2.4 metres wide, oak veneer over metal in a dark coffee finish, made by Richmond. It's long and low, which is exactly what a large TV wants sitting on top of it, and there's serious storage underneath for everything you'd rather keep out of sight. Showroom-grade furniture, and the price reflects that at £2,191. Three in stock.
Bloomville 2-Door Sideboard, Brown
PU leather and oak veneer, two doors, and a look that works whether your hallway leans modern or traditional. Plenty of room behind those doors for the stuff you don't want on show, and the brass and shagreen detailing is what really makes it. £1,220, and with thirty in stock it's the one piece here you can actually take your time over.
Ozzero Ivory Boucle Curved Armchair
Boucle is everywhere right now and this is a good version of it. Ivory fabric, a curved back that wraps around you, a matching cushion, and three upholstered legs instead of the usual wooden ones. Comfortable to sit in, easy to style, and it lifts a corner that's looking a bit flat. £513.99.
